Mr Monkey went into the counting house, where Mr Shallcross would have written letters and done his accounts. Mr Monkey inspected a writing desk, but spent more time at the large table. There was some paper to write on, some quill pens, some inkwells filled with ink and laminated sheets showing how 17th century letters were written. Mr Monkey very carefully used a quill pen to write a meaningful message, and left the room.
