Mr Monkey looked into the tiny galley to see where all the food for the 74 man crew was prepared. He found out that the officers had a special mess to eat in, with a chess board stuck on the table. The ordinary enlisted men had to eat at their berths. Only the captain, the political officer and the chief engineer had private cabins; everyone else had to share bunks, one sailor on duty and the other sleeping in the bunk. Mr Monkey decided that he was glad he wasn't actually going to sea in this submarine.
