Mr Monkey at Dunham Massey, 9th March

"It looks like it's going to be a good place to visit"

A little further along the path, which was one of five drives through the estate used in the 18th century, Mr Monkey got his first view of the servants wing and the stable block. These were built on the site of a formal garden by the 2nd Earl of Warrington in the early 18th century, and were modernised to include running water, electricty, and space to park cars in the early 20th century. Many people went straight into the stable block to buy tickets for the house, but Mr Monkey carried along the old route around to the front.
