Mr Monkey arrived at the Great Bath, the heart of the Roman Baths. He scampered along the walkway around the bath, and examined the greenish water, which was giving off a light steam. The pool is 1.5 metres deep, and lined with lead. The water is green because it's full of algae; the Romans always had a roof over the Great Bath, which kept out the sunlight that feeds the algae.
