Mr Monkey looked down the south aisle of the nave, admiring the spandrels that allowed the roof to soar 52 feet above him. He scampered down a short flight of steps beside the south transept to the remains of the abbey cloister. Only the eastern section of the cloister survived the Dissolution, and has been glazed with a mixture of medieval glass and modern work depicting important figures in the abbey's history.
