There are twenty eight 24 pounder guns on the middle gun deck. Mr Monkey found a display of different things to fire at ships - roundshot to punch holes in big ships, barshot and chainshot to wreck rigging, and grapeshot to kill crew or sink small boats - next to one of the 24 pounders. He inspected the gunlocks, a sort of flintlock pistol mechanism used to fire the guns. Some were uncocked, with the firing lanyard stowed away, and others were cocked and ready to fire.
