Mr Monkey read about the formation of the Black Panther Party, and about how they chose to wear berets because the night before they planned their uniforms Bobby Seale and Huey Newton watched a film about French resistance fighters attacking the Nazis. In a display case Mr Monkey looked at a collection of Black Panther pamphlets and badges. He found out later that a lot of the people in Emory Douglas's art wore badges to emphasise the point of the picture.
