"Apparently, steam engines come in many sizes"

Next Mr Monkey looked at the Waddon engine. A horizontal cross-compound engine, built in 1910, this was used in the Waddon Pumping Station in Croydon and was one of the last two steam engines to be used in a waterworks in Britain. In a side gallery Mr Monkey looked at the tiny Robey engine, used to drive hoists at Truman's Brewery in Stepney, and some other small steam engines.
