Mr Monkey in London, 12th February

"Samuel Pepys visited that church in 1667, but only to look at girls"

Mr Monkey took a train to Hackney. He scampered through St John's Church Gardens, which were part of the churchyard of St. Augustine's church until the early 16th century church was demolished. Mr Monkey stopped to look at St Augustine's Tower, all that remains of the old church, and one of the old tombs.

You can read about St. Augustine's Tower at the Hackney Historic Buildings Trust website.
