Mr Monkey visits the American Museum, 12th May

"The quilts all have slightly odd names, you know"

After admiring the front of the building Mr Monkey scurried into the Museum intent on exploring three floors of American history. He found a whole room full of quilts. Some were delicate and pale, and some, like this log cabin straight furrow quilt, were bright and bold. Mr Monkey wondered where the log cabin was until he was told the design was supposed to be the roof of a cabin, seen from above.

Photography isn't allowed inside the American Museum, so in the second picture Mr Monkey is standing in front of a page from Quilts and Coverlets, published by the American Museum in Britain.
