The first section of the exhibition, Origins 1979-83, told Mr Monkey about the British black music scene in the early 80's and the introducion of hip hop to the UK mainstream by Malcolm McClaren and The World's Famous Supreme Team's Buffalo Gals video and by Charlie Ahearn's film Wildstyle. Mr Monkey studied record sleeves, posters and videos from the period.
