Mr Monkey was interested to see that, as well as all the displays of banners and posters and historical artefacts, there were things to play with. Throughout the gallery he found period telephones which played extracts of oral history interviews when he dialed the right number. There were also lots of boxes full of replica things connected to people involved in historic events, such as the giant Bryant and May matchbox which was about the 1888 strike of Bryant and May matchgirls. Mr Monkey was pleased to see that most of these included a hat to try on, though none of them were in his size.
