Mr Monkey takes a Mancunian Canal Cruise, 13th October

"I hadn't realised the Irwell had so many bridges"

The boat turned right out of Dock No. 3 and headed towards central Manchester. Close to the Woden Street footbridge, which marks the join between the Manchester Ship Canal and the Irwell (not that you'd notice the difference by looking), Mr Monkey admired a mural showing Mancunian buildings painted by local schoolchildren and not painted on by local vandals. After going under the A57 Mr Monkey saw the railway bridge that carries the line from Manchester out to Altrincham and, beyond that, the Princes Bridge.
