Mr Monkey at Eltham Palace and Hampton Court

"We'll investigate the gardens next"

Mr Monkey in Virginia Courtauld's bedroom Mr Monkey looking out of a window at the garden

Upstairs, Mr Monkey inspected Ginie Courtauld's bedroom, which looks circular because of its circular shape. It was designed to look a bit like a Roman temple, only with more electric lights and walk-in wardrobes. From another upstairs room, Mr Monkey got his first glimpse of the gardens outside.

You can read some interesting things about the symbolism in the design of the building at Judith Habgood-Everett's Eltham Palace - an Alternative Guide website. You could buy her book, as well. Mr Monkey did.
