Mr Monkey at Tavistock Square

"They're different, but they're both moving"

Mr Monkey in front of the Royal Artillery Memorial Mr Monkey in front of the Australian War Memorial

Mr Monkey took the tube out to Hyde Park Corner. He looked at C.S. Jagger's 1925 memorial to the 49,000 Royal Artillery men who died in the Great War. Then he inspected the newish Australian war memorial. This was dedicated in Sepetember 2003, and has the names of all the places the men and women of the Australian forces came from, with some letters cunningly emphasised to show the names of the battles they fought in.

You can read about the Australian war memorial at the Digger History website.
