Mr Monkey in New York, February 27

"It's not the swankiest street we've been down"

Taking the advice of Michael Natale, Mr Monkey went to Cortland Alley, in search of some pasted-on grafitti by an artist called Swoon. Cortland Alley was a little grim, even though it did have a small stand of bamboo growing in it, but Mr Monkey didn't mind much. He'd first encountered Swoon's cutouts at home in Manchester, at the Ill Communication II exhibition at Urbis, and he was keen on seeing some of Swoon's work in it's home territory.
