If Mr Monkey had turned right after leaving Hall's Croft, he could have gone to visit Shakepeare's tomb in Holy Trinity Church. But he didn't, so instead he just had to look at the spire of the church from the tramway bridge. Then he went to look at the Gower Memorial statue of Shakespeare, which is in a pleasant park near the river.
