Mr Monkey visits Stirling Castle

"You can never tell with royalty, can you?"

In the Inner Close, Mr Monkey visited the Chapel Royal. This was built in 1594, replacing an earlier building in almost the same place, and was redecorated in 1628-9 to be ready for Charles I to visit in 1633. For some reason, they thought Charles I would enjoy a window painted on a wall. While he was in the Inner Close, Mr Monkey also visited the regimental museum of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders in the King's Old Building, but he wasn't allowed to take pictures.

You can read about the regimental museum at the Museum of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders website.
