Mr Monkey ran up some stairs in the Outer Close, and found himself inside the Great Hall. This is the largest hall ever built in Scotland, so big that it needed five fireplaces. It's been restored extensively over the last few years, so now it looks as did around 1500, with a magnificent hammerbeam roof. Mr Monkey looked out of a window to check that the Inner Close was still there, then ran down to the far end of the hall. After Mr Monkey had looked back at the dias where James IV would sit for a snack, he left by the servants exit, into the Inner Close.
