Mr Monkey visits Inchcolm Abbey

"That's where we're getting off, you know"

Mr Monkey did his best to ignore the different breeds of sea-owls lurking on small islands in the Forth, concentrating on looking for Inchcolm Island. After he'd been out in the river for about 45 minutes, he spotted a building that looked so much like an abbey that he knew he was arriving at Inchcolm. As well as the ruins of the abbey, the island has a lot of military installations left over from the two world wars, when Inchcolm was garrisoned to defend the Firth of Forth against naval attack.
