Mr Monkey in London, March 2nd

"It's another church full of lightness and airiness"

Mr Monkey scampered into the church through a side door. He stopped for a moment to look at a monument to 15 people killed by a Fenian attempt to free a prisoner from Clerkenwell prison by detonating 500lb of gunpowder in Corporation Row. Then Mr Monkey ran under the royal arms of George III into the nave of the church. He realised that Mr Carr had been influenced by Wren when he designed the church, and marvelled a bit at the stained glass in the end wall, which was made by Heaton, Butler and Bayne in 1863.
