Once he was sure that the dry dock was safe and dry, Mr Monkey felt secure enough to go and inspect the hull of the ship. He was interested to see that it was clinker-built, like a Viking ship, only made of iron from Coalbrookdale rather than trees from Scandinavia. The hull bulges out from a sharp prow as a cunning way of getting as much space inside the ship as possible.
