Half way up the stairs Mr Monkey stopped in what used to be a doorway to the upper floor, and realised that he could just see the Minster through a window opposite him. Then he scurried on up to the narrow wall walk, and peered down into the tower. He noticed a lot of pinkish stone, the result of a gunpowder explosion and fire in 1684.
