Mr Monkey walks the rest of York's walls, August 11th

"The Minster follows you around, you know"

Mr Monkey left the wall to inspect Victoria Bar, the result of George Hudson deciding there weren't enough holes in York's city walls. That was in 1838, when he was Lord Mayor of York and Chairman of the York and North Midland Railway. Back on the walls again, Mr Monkey looked over the pleasant Victorian houses of Victoria Street to catch another glimpse of York Minster.
