Mr Monkey arrived at Micklegate Bar, and looked down onto Micklegate which used to be York's most important street. He noticed that, unlike the other Bars of the city, there was a passage running across the back of this tower. He decided to trot through it rather than leave the wall and cross the street, just because he could.
