Mr Monkey scampered along the walls towards Lendal Bridge. Just like everyone else, he stopped to admire the Minster from the south west. He scampered down the steps near the bridge, and found that the walls ended in the river. Standing between a small tower and the bridge, he looked across the river at the Lendal tower. In medieval times, a chain was slung across the river between the two towers to block the river.
