Mr Monkey in the Belfry, August 28th

"It's a fearsome weather vane, you know"

On the second floor, in the chamber where medieval watchmen used to come to get warm, Mr Monkey peered out through some very old glass and studied models showing the different tops that have been fitted to the Belfry at different times. He also had a look at the remains of the medieval dragon that stood like a weather vane on top of the Belfry until 1839, and the 1854 replica which didn't last quite so long. The new one, put up in 1980, was made of iron covered in copper plates, just like the medieval one.
