Mr Monkey paused outside the Royal Pump Room museum to admire the building. He correctly suspected that they'd had several goes at the building; the site had started as a well-head, then a sort of stone gazebo covered it, that turned into a small temple-like building, and finally, in 1913, the black and glass annex was added to finish the Pump Room off.
You can read about the museum at the Harrogate Council website.
