Mr Monkey visits the Museum in Docklands, 16th May

"Obviously someone living here liked wine"

Mr Monkey looking at a Roman amphora Mr Monkey looking at the Saintogne jug

Mr Monkey started to explore the Thames Highway gallery, which deals with the early ports of London. Mr Monkey looked at all the artefacts that had been dug up over the years, and admired the Roman amphora, evidence of the Roman wine trade, and the decorated Saintogne jug, evidence of the Bordeaux wine trade. The smaller pot is Sieburg stoneware, part of London's trade with the Hanseatic traders of the Baltic.
