Mr Monkey looked at the runners-up in the Art category. First he looked at pictures from Paul Harfleet's Pansy Project which involves planting a pansy to mark instances of homophobic verbal abuse. Then he examined Spring Shrouds by Jai Redman and the Ultimate Holding Company. This project was developed with comedian Mark Thomas and led to the free standing advertising boards of central Manchester being covered with hand-printed and hand-stitched hoods indicating a preference for trees rather than adverts.
You can read Paul Harfleet's blog, see pictures of the project at the Pansy Project website, and read about Spring Shrouds at the UHC website.
