The next section Mr Monkey came to was Dignity (purple), which covered labour politics from the early socialism of the 1880s to the Labour victory in the 1945 General Election. He experimented with the dignity of work by constructing a cardboard box and found it was difficult without glue. He looked at Harry Quelch's strongly monkey-based election poster, decided that monkeys wouldn't stand for this kind of thing, and went on strike.
