Mr Monkey takes a Mancunian Canal Cruise, 13th October


"There's a lot of viaducts around here, you know"

The trip started by passing under the four railway viaducts (listed below) that cross the Castlefield Basin. Mr Monkey gazed up at the interesting mixture of brick and iron where the lines run close together, and admired the arches of the Manchester, South Junction and Altrincham line to Altrincham.

The viaducts, from north to south:

* Obviously, the Great Northern had a strong sense of branding. Or weren't very good at thinking up new names.
