Mr Monkey found that the nearby museum of the National Bank of Belgium was open, so he scampered inside. He found himself inside the offices of the bank, which were used up to 1953. The painting on the easel in the Governor's office is actually a computer screen, with an audio-visual display about the bank. Mr Monkey thought it'd be quite nice being a shareholder of the bank and sitting at the long table for the Annual General Meeting, providing you got proper refreshments. He did wonder if other people used the room the rest of the year.
You can read about the museum at the Museum of the National Bank of Belgium website.
