Mr Monkey in London, January 10th

"This is a fine church"

Mr Monkey in the nave of St Andrew Holborn Mr Monkey looking at Sir Thomas Coram's tomb

Mr Monkey scampered into the church to admire the interior, which was all completely replaced during the 1961 rebuilding. The church was restored according to Wren's designs, which is why it's light and airy, and not dark and Victorian. The font, pulpit and organ case were all brought over from Sir Thomas Coram's Foundling Hospital, and they moved Sir Thomas's tomb while they were about it.

You can read all about the church at the St Andrew Holborn website.
