Mr Monkey in Chester, May 26th

"It's a very odd place to keep a coffin"

Opposite the park, Mr Monkey investigated the ruined end of the church of St John the Baptist. This was Chester's first cathedral. Someone was digging in the grounds in the 19th century and found an oak coffin. To make sure everyone knew it had been found, it was fixed high on a wall in one of the ruined chantry chapels. Mr Monkey gazed at the coffin, marvelled that anyone would glue it to a wall, and went to explore the rest of the ruined area.
