"Very poor work by those Anglians"

Mr Monkey looking at the Anglian tower Mr Monkey looking

Mr Monkey found a little doorway, slipped through it, and found the Anglian Tower he was looking for. This was built between the Roman and medieval periods, and was excavated, along with bits of Roman wall, in the early 1970s by Jeffrey Radley, who died in an accident on the site. Mr Monkey looked carefully at the stonework of the Roman walls, the medieval wall behind the Roman wall, and the Anglian tower, and decided the Anglians didn't really know much about building with stone. Then he looked at the demonstration of outlines of the bank beneath the wall in the Roman, Dark Age, Norman and medieval periods
